"Fortnight" by Taylor Swift & Post Malone // Record Store Day 2025 Exclusive White Vinyl 7" Single

Image
And for a fortnight, there we were forever đŸ€ Happy Record Store Day! I have always loved collecting Taylor Swift 's music on vinyl and I was so excited when it was announced she was releasing a new 7" single for Record Store Day ! To celebrate one of the biggest events of the year for independent record stores, Taylor and Post Malone released a special 7" copy of their song "Fortnight". Post Malone was also the Record Store Day ambassador this year, and this is one of two special pressings he released to celebrate it.   I love this song and all that it represents for the emotionally intense 31 track masterpiece The Tortured Poets Department . The themes present within this song thread through the rest of the album so intricately.  The true power of this song lies in its subtlety. Its lyrical connections and narrative echoes only fully reveal themselves after spending significant time immersed in the music. It's a powerful testament to the album's lay...

Changes by Justin Bieber // 5 Year Anniversary Album Review

Image
Changes is a beautiful representation of the new phase in Justin Bieber 's life following a five-year hiatus from music. Released on Valentine's Day in 2020 , this album largely serves as a musical ode to his wife, Hailey . Every single song serves as a profession of his love for her and their new life together in their first year of marriage. Their relationship is at the center of this entire album, as well as a glimpse into his life in the years following his previous release, Purpose , in 2015. It is a very honest and sweet reflection of the man he is and who he is working to become.  "As humans, we are imperfect," Justin said in an announcement video for his YouTube docuseries Seasons , which documented the creation of Changes . "My past, my mistakes, all the things that I've been through, I believe that I'm right where I'm supposed to be and God has me right where he wants me. I feel like this is different than the previous albums just because of...

Happy Record Store Day! To celebrate one of the biggest events of the year for independent record stores, Noah Kahan released a special vinyl EP titled Town Hall: Stick Season Collaborations.  It is a limited edition vinyl that features eight of the bonus tracks from his 2022 album Stick Season , each reimagined two years following it's initial release as duets with different collaborators.  This is the first time it is released as a standalone EP on vinyl, previously it was only ever featured on the deluxe pressing of the complete edition of Stick Season (We'll All Be Here Forever) .  Town Hall  is limited to 15,000 copies and was sold exclusively at indie record stores on Black Friday. It is pressed on what they described as "tiger eye brown", which looks like a beautiful translucent ember brown with black swirl. It perfectly suits the earthy aesthetic of the album artwork. It also comes with a really nice photo insert too, which is designed to look like a newspap...

The Best Songs of July 2024 // New Music Friday!

Image
Tough" // Lana Del Rey & Quavo Lana Del Rey and Quavo teamed up for "Tough", a dreamy Americana summer anthem released right before the Fourth of July. It reminds me of something that could have been included on one of my all-time favorite albums by Lana,  Lust For Life , which is a sound I love to hear her channeling again. I also love the resilient message of the lyrics and the varied influences they draw from in this song. Their voices unexpectedly blend so well together and they truly make a great pair on this song. It's one of my favorite songs of the entire year so far, I love it so much and hope that we get more new music from Lana soon! "Juna" // Clairo I absolutely love every single song on Clairo 's latest release,  Charm , it flows together so beautifully into such a calming and transcending listening experience. "Juna" is definitely a highlight for me, it is such a sweet and simple jazzy song that feels like it could have been...
