My Favorite Beauty Products of 2021

Image
In 2021, I didn't wear makeup as often or bought as much as I have in the past - so many of my favorites in the past year were products that are staples in my collection that I have been using for years and have featured in many past posts. I have in-depth reviews of each of these products linked throughout this post if you are looking to learn more about any of them, as well!   For my favorite beauty products of 2021, I have chosen my top 10 broken down into 3 categories; eyes, lips and face.  E Y E S Colourpop Pressed Powder Eyeshadow  As always, my absolute favorite eyeshadow formula every year continues to be Colourpop's Pressed Powder Eyeshadows . They come in a huge range of shades, from neutral, colorful, bright, muted, monochromatic - you name it and Colourpop has a palette for it! Their formula is the best there is, it is amazing quality for both makeup professionals and beginners. Each palette has a great color payoff that can be applied to be very pigmente...

KYLIE COSMETICS PLUMPING LIP GLOSS // REVIEW

Image
The Kylie Cosmetics Plumping Lip Gloss is an Ulta exclusive product, which retails for $16 in-stores and online. If you want the Kylie Jenner  look, this lip gloss promises to give you the illusion of fuller lips - which I have found to be somewhat true. According to Ulta's website, it is formulated with a natural peptide that offers the appearance of defined, smooth, and firmer-looking lips with intense moisture. It also is formulated with Frescolat, which is a unique cooling agent to give a refreshing feel to the lips, as well as Natural Capsicum, which is an essential oil that creates a plumped appearance for the lips by promoting increased blood flow.  The claim that it makes your lips appear fuller is debatable, because I don't necessarily see much of a difference than I would with any other gloss. However, that doesn't make this a bad product necessarily.  Generally, all glosses give the look of fuller-looking lips because of the extra shine and reflective finish -...

KYLIE COSMETICS CONCEALER REVIEW

Image
I have been a huge fan of a lot of Kylie Cosmetics ' products for years, especially when it comes to their lip products , but this concealer is such an underrated gem in their lineup! It is a lightweight formula with a satin finish that would work for any skin type. I personally have very dry skin and this concealer has worked so well to cover up any blemishes without enhancing any texture I have. Other concealers I've used in the past tend to accentuate any dry patches on my face and start to look cakey throughout the day, but the Kylie Cosmetics concealer is one of the only I've used that stays looking fresh and natural with prolonged wear.  If you have dry skin like mine, you likely won't have to set the concealer with powder, but if you have oily skin, it may help it wear longer throughout the day if you do.  It has medium coverage, which is perfect for my preferences. I have the shade "Stone" which is described as a "pink fair with peach undertones...

My Favorite Beauty Products of 2020

Image
My yearly favorites posts have become a tradition on my blog since I started in 2017 and even though in 2020 I didn't wear makeup as often as I usually do, I still want to share some of my favorites of the year! This list is comprised of some old favorites that have been featured in many of my end of the year wrap-ups, as well as new products that I tried for the first time in 2020. I narrowed it down to five products per category to show you the best of the best! For nearly every product on this list, I have a dedicated in-depth review of it on my blog which will be linked throughout the post in case you wanted to learn more about anything mentioned!  E Y E S Colourpop Super Shock Shadow // "Ritz" Colourpop's Super Shock Shadows   have been my all-time favorite makeup product for years, but this year I discovered a new shade that has quickly become an absolute must-have!  Ritz has a sheer nude base with extra fine silver sparkle. This shadow will give you a glittery ...

KYLIE COSMETICS MINI 2020 HOLIDAY PALETTE DUO REVIEW

Image
Kylie Cosmetics' new mini six-pan palette duo is the perfect gift this holiday season! This is a part of Ulta's exclusive Kylie Cosmetics holiday collection, which also includes a variety of her best selling products in a mini size. This palette bundle retails for $38, but keep a look out for some sales in the coming weeks!  One duo is primarily warm toned, with a collection of sparkling golds and matte browns. The other is cool toned, with an assortment of purple and grey toned shadows. I tried my first Kylie Cosmetics palette earlier this year,  the Sorta Sweet Palette , and I have loved using it. I was so excited to add these two mini holiday palettes to my collection!  The matte formula is on-par with the other Kylie palette    I tired. Some of the mattes are more sheer than others and require a bit of building to reach it's full opacity. I actually love when matte shadows like this aren't too pigmented because it's so much easier to get a seamless finishe...
