Image
In 2023 , Post Malone made music history by being the first artist to have eight of his songs reach Diamond status, meaning he sold over ten million copies of each in the United States. The record was previously held by Bruno Mars , who currently has six Diamond singles himself. In February 2024, Post Malone once again made history by having the first ever Double Diamond song certified by RIAA with "Sunflower (feat. Swae Lee)". Since its release in 2018, the song has sold a record-breaking twenty million copies in the U.S. and its success has only continued to grow since its inclusion on the soundtrack for  Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and later his third album, Hollywood's Bleeding the following year. "Sunflower" rose to number one on the charts, making it Swae Lee's first and Post Malone's third time at number one. It ended up staying in the top ten for 33 weeks, at the time tying with "Girls Like You" by Maroon 5 & Cardi B and ...

"Say Yes To Heaven" by Lana Del Rey // 7" picture disc vinyl 🤍

"Give peace a chance, let the fear you have fall away" "Say Yes To Heaven" by Lana Del Rey was originally written in the 2013 recording sessions for her second album, Ultraviolence . It didn't end up making the final cut for the album, as the record ended up going in a different sonic direction, but a few different versions of the track ended up leaking through the years, starting as early as 2016. Ten years after it was first recorded, the song finally got an official release in early 2023 following the leaked demo going viral on TikTok. The song has had a cult following for many years, so it was surprising that it was actually officially released. There are many other demos and unreleased songs that have leaked online over the past decade, which have also garnered unexpected virality in the years that followed, but this is a rare instance of her officially putting out a song in its original form.  It is such a wistfully romantic song, one that reminds me a lo...

It re-defined pop music in immeasurable ways that we will continue to hear the influences of for years to come. This album It is also widely considered to be a fan-favorite, as well as being a revolutionary record in the streaming era. Looking at it now five years later, thank u, next serves as such a time capsule of pop culture of the late 2018-2019 era. It really does transport me back to those years every time I listen to it.  thank u, next  was released in early 2019 , less than six months after her fourth album  Sweetener , which was another career-defining record that came after a period of deep, all-encompassing loves and heartbreaks. Those two albums really do go in tandem, there is no way to talk about one without referencing the profound impact the other had on her artistic journey. Even visually, both are connected thro...

2024 Grammy's: Best of the Night

Image
Music's biggest night of the year was filled with unforgettable music moments and live performances of some of the best songs of the year. Every single category at this year's Grammy ceremony was stacked with incredible talent, making it impossible to really predict which way each award was going to go. It has been such a great year for new music and this show served as a perfect celebration of that.  The show opened with a performance from Dua Lipa of her new song "Training Season", which is set to be officially released later this month. She also performed one of my current favorites, "Houdini" , which was also her first time performing that song too. It was one of the first glimpses we got into the visuals surrounding her upcoming album, and I am so excited to hear more from it soon! She was nominated this year for "Dance The Night" from Barbie: The Album , which she didn't win any awards for, but is a great song nonetheless!  The rest of ...
