"One Kiss" was one of Dua Lipa 's first major worldwide hits, coming out shortly after her debut self-titled album was released in 2017. She now has several other massive hits, but it's so cool to be able to look back at this as an early foreshadowing of the superstar she would become in the following years. This song is in collaboration with Calvin Harris , who really dominated the dance pop market throughout the 2010's. This may be one of the best he has ever released. Dua and Calvin first met in 2015, soon after her first single "Be The One" was released. They didn't work together until two years later when he discovered a half-written song he had been working on that he thought Dua would sound great on. "BLUE" // Billie Eilish Words can't express how much I've been loving Billie Eilish 's latest album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT this month. Dare I say it's my favorite album of the year already!? Every single song is so incredible, and it was so hard to choose just one favorite, but for the sake of this list I went with the incredible ending track "BLUE". I was literally transcending the first time I heard this song, it's so rare to have an experience like that while listening to music. The first part of the song blends the chorus of a song called "True Blue", a previously unreleased demo from Billie's early career, while also lyrically connecting every single song from the rest of the album together at once. About mid-way through, the song switches up again into an ethereal and emotional ballad. It perfectly closes out the album. "Angel Of My Dreams" is such an unexpected and unique direction for JADE to be taking with her debut single, in all of the best ways. To enter into a new chapter of her career as a solo artist with a song that serves as such a poignant and defiant commentary on how fickle fame can be and opening up about her own experiences in the music industry is such a powerful note to open on. Coming out of Little Mix - one of the most successful girl groups in history, who went on hiatus in 2021 - this song serves as a bold reintroduction of who JADE is as a solo artist. She opens up about the love/hate relationship she has with fame and the industry as a whole, with such an unfiltered approach.
