Late Night Talking by Harry Styles // 7" vinyl, CD & behind the scenes zine

Image
Now you're in my liiiiife, I can't get you off my mind! The "Late Night Talking" collection was released around September 2022 and was an exclusive release for Harry Styles ' webstore. It included a 7" black vinyl featuring "Late Night Talking" on side A and the song's instrumental on side B. I also have a copy of the CD single as well, which was released alongside the vinyl on his webstore. I love the simple, classic design with a pop of bright orange on the center label of the vinyl and the CD. The cover is a still from the music video, which is kind of a random and unexpected choice for the single release but still captures the lighthearted nature of the song and video. "Late Night Talking" is the second track on his 2022 album  Harry's House , which he debuted at Coachella earlier that year when he was headlining. I must have watched that clip of him performing it a million times, so I was already loving this song long before i...

HARRY'S HOUSE BY HARRY STYLES // ALBUM REVIEW

Image
After Harry Styles ' record breaking release of his sophomore album Fine Line in late 2019, he is finally back and better than ever with his new album Harry's House ! It was written, produced, and performed primarily with his frequent collaborators Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson - along with Sammy Witte and Mitch Rowland on a few - at the start of the pandemic in 2020 up until he embarked on the US leg of Love On Tour last Fall. This album opens up a new side of Harry that we haven't heard from him before, while still incorporating many of the same musical elements we all know and love from past work. "I wanted to make an acoustic EP, all in my house, and make it really intimate. It’s named after the Japanese pop pioneer Haruomi Hosono, who had an album in the ‘70s called Hosono's House . I immediately started thinking about what Harry’s House might look like. It took time for me to realise that the house wasn’t a geographical location, it was an internal thing,...

"As It Was" by Harry Styles // Song Review

Image
As the lead single off Harry’s House in 2022, "As It Was" completely set the tone for the rest of the project. On this track, Harry Styles perfectly soundtracks the feeling of opening yourself up to the next chapter and embracing the idea that nothing is the same as it was, and maybe that's a good thing. The inevitability of change, and the willingness to let go and allow yourself to move forward, sits at the heart of everything this song represents. He repeatedly sings, "in this world, it's just us, you know it's not the same as it was", which at its core sums up the meaning of Harry's House so perfectly. It's a song rooted in dealing with a transitional period of life, which everyone will interpret differently in their own lives, but the emotional truth of it remains universal. It's an incredibly powerful song because it fully owns the fact that change is always going to come and instead of wallowing in what could have been or the fear of...

HARRY STYLES LOVE ON TOUR NYC 2022 // MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IS HARRY'S HOUSE (NIGHT 15)

Image
Welcome to the final show! For 15 consecutive nights Harry Styles turned Madison Square Garden into Harry's House , and I had the most incredible experience seeing him on the 15th and final night of his New York City Love On Tour residency.  This was my fourth time seeing Harry live and there is truly nothing else quite like his concerts, it is an amazing experience every single time. Everyone is always so full of pure happiness and great energy at his shows, it is always such a joy to even be there. I went to two of his Love On Tour shows last October at Madison Square Garden and I love how every show was actually completely different from the other. This show especially was a completely different set-list, with a focus on the songs from his latest album that was released earlier this year. He played almost every song from Harry's House , except for "Grapejuice" and "Boyfriends", with a mix of some of the highlights from Fine Line and his self titled d...
