KYLIE COSMETICS HIGH GLOSS // REVIEW

Kylie Cosmetics makes some of my all-time favorite lip products, so I was very excited to try out the new High Glosses. The High Glosses retail for $16 each and come in 14 shades on the website. I have 3 of the shades, "My Moon and Stars", "Lost Angel" and "Oh You Fancy?".

(Left to right) "Oh You Fancy?" is described as a sheer silver with champagne pearl - "Lost Angel" is a baby pink with pink and gold shimmer - "My Moon and Stars" is a warm pink with multidimensional glitter.

On the Kylie Cosmetics website, it seems that each shade has a distinct color difference, but in person they look nearly identical on the lips. They are marketed as sheer glosses, but the photos on her website can be a little bit deceptive. I bought 3 shades thinking that they would look different on the lips, but the only major difference between them is the shade of glitter in them. There is no base pigment, so they are all essentially clear glosses with a slight tint of sparkle. If you're planning on buying this product, I would recommend just getting one shade that you're drawn to on the website, because otherwise they're basically the same.

Other than the lack of shade differences, I really love the formula of these glosses. It is a thicker consistency, but it doesn't feel sticky at all. It also feels very moisturizing on the lips, even after it's worn off.

Since there isn't much pigment to these glosses, they are the perfect toppers to any lipstick to give it a glossy finish. I personally love to put it on top of a lip liner or my favorite matte liquid lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics. The gloss blends well with lipsticks and doesn't make the product separate on your lips in the way some lip glosses can.

The overall packaging is very minimalistic, but also very distinctive to the brand. I love the millennial pink packaging that Kylie Cosmetics has been using for their newer releases over the past few months. I also love the large applicator, it makes it so easy to apply in just one swipe. The size of it is very reminiscent of the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb applicators.

One of the only downsides to this product is that it doesn't seem like there's much product in the tube. Even though it apparently has the same amount - or even more, depending on the shade - as all of her other glosses on her website in the original packaging. After only a couple of uses, it looks like a third of the product is already gone. I have tried her other glosses and it doesn't look like the tube is empty in the way these do. It could be the shape of the tube, or the large size of the applicator affecting the amount of product that could fit, or maybe its just the way it settles - either way, I don't really understand why that happens, but I wanted to point that out before you purchase these.

Like I mentioned earlier, Kylie Cosmetics makes some of my all time favorite lip products and everything I've tried from the brand has been so high quality and definitely worth the price. If you're looking for a sheer and ultra glossy lip gloss, then I fully recommend checking out these High Glosses. However if you prefer a more pigmented lip gloss, I would recommend checking out the other lip glosses from the brand. In the future I'll do another post comparing all of the Kylie Cosmetics lip product formulas, since there's so many to choose from now!
