My Favorite Beauty Products of 2020

My yearly favorites posts have become a tradition on my blog since I started in 2017 and even though in 2020 I didn't wear makeup as often as I usually do, I still want to share some of my favorites of the year! This list is comprised of some old favorites that have been featured in many of my end of the year wrap-ups, as well as new products that I tried for the first time in 2020. I narrowed it down to five products per category to show you the best of the best! For nearly every product on this list, I have a dedicated in-depth review of it on my blog which will be linked throughout the post in case you wanted to learn more about anything mentioned!

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow // "Ritz"

Colourpop's Super Shock Shadows have been my all-time favorite makeup product for years, but this year I discovered a new shade that has quickly become an absolute must-have! Ritz has a sheer nude base with extra fine silver sparkle. This shadow will give you a glittery and glamorous look, without the extra time, mess, and dangers of using a pressed or loose glitter product. When you apply it to the lid on it's own, it gives a very smooth, dimensional and an almost glossy look to the eye. Unlike a lot of other glitter products, this has very minimal fallout throughout the day. It's such a versatile shade that can be worn alone for a more natural look or as a topper for any eyeshadow, since this has such a sheer base. I have tried several Super Shock Shadows, but "Ritz" is definitely my new favorite!

The Kylie Cosmetics Sorta Sweet Eyeshadow Palette is my go-to palette for quick and easy eyeshadow. These shades are so flattering on my skin tone, and the level of pigmentation makes it so easy to blend for a quick and seamless eyeshadow look. The formula of the matte shades make it easy to achieve a soft, blended look - while the three metallic shades are perfect to add a bit of extra shine to the eyelid. I have heard many mixed reviews on the formula of Kylie's eyeshadows, but in my experience, I truly can't recommend them enough!

The KKW eyeshadow palette formula feels so luxe and unlike any other palette I have tried before. I bought this on sale at Ulta last year and was blown away by the quality of this palette. The metallic shades are absolutely stunning and are so reflective when applied to the eyelids, while the matte shades have the perfect amount of pigmentation and blends out perfectly. I have a full detailed review of this palette coming soon, so be sure to come back soon for that!

Ever since Colourpop released their very first eyeshadow palette back in 2017, I was obsessed!  I have four palettes from them, all of which are affordable, consistent in quality and are absolutely beautiful! I also love that they offer single shadows as well, which is a great way to try out new shades and finishes that aren't often included in full palettes. Colourpop is constantly releasing new palettes, so there really is something for everyone in their range!

ELF Bite Size Eyeshadow Palette // "Hot Jalapeño"

One of the best drugstore releases of 2020 is the mini eyeshadow quads from Elf. At only $3, they offer a wide selection of shadows in neutral, rosy, smoky, and a few colorful tones. I chose the palette called "Hot Jalapeño", because I never used green shadow before, but was looking to try it out! At the price point of just $3, these palettes just can't be beat!

Kylie Cosmetics Lipsticks // "Candy K", "Twenty", Madeline"

My all-time favorite lipsticks are from Kylie Cosmetics and are always my go-to for daily wear. The three shades I listed; "Candy K", "Twenty", and "Madeline", are my top three favorites from my Kylie Cosmetics collection, but you really can't go wrong with any of the lip products the brand has to offer. These lipsticks last all day, through eating, drinking and wearing a mask! I absolutely love all of the lip products I've tried from Kylie Cosmetics, and can't recommend them enough!

These lip creams from Rare Beauty have a velvety whipped texture that is truly unlike any other liquid lipstick I have ever tried before. It feels weightless on the lips, almost like you don't even have any lipstick on! It glides on the lips with full pigmentation in just one swipe. It can also be toned down for a blotted lip look, by tapping it on with your finger instead. I have the shade "Inspire" which is a beautiful bright red, one of the best I've found. "Inspire" is perfect for a bold, yet classic look that will compliment everyone's skin tone beautifully.

This balm feels so light and moisturizing on the lips - while giving a sheer wash of color. Even though the pigment is sheer upon initial application, it can be built up for a more pigmented look. It also gives such a beautiful shine to the lips. The shade "Thankful" is a beautiful mid-tone brown with mauve undertones, which is always one of my favorites to wear!

"Syrup" is a classic shade that would truly suit anyone's makeup preferences. It is a neutral-toned medium pink, which is my go-to for daily wear. The sheer opacity and glossy finish looks so pretty and gives the perfect tint to the lips. I love to pair this with my favorite mauve lip liner and glosses too!

Milani Color Statement Lipstick // "Teddy Bare"

"Teddy Bare" is the perfect mid-tone brown lipstick with a creamy, yet long-lasting finish. This is the first lipstick I have ever tried from Milani, and I absolutely love wearing it. Milani's Color Statement line comes in wide selection of shades, but "Teddy Bare" is such a stand-out product that would flatter anyone's skin tone.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush // "Grace"

One of my favorite steps in my makeup routine is blush and this mini version of Rare Beauty's liquid blush is one of the best I have ever tried! It's very pigmented, so a little bit goes a long way. It blends out so easily though and gives a natural flush to the cheeks. Out of all the Rare Beauty products included throughout this post, this is my absolute favorite from them!

Kylie Cosmetics Powder Blush // "Baddie on the Block"

When it comes to powder blushes, the Kylie Cosmetics blushes are unmatched! I use this blush every single time I do my makeup and is an essential in my makeup collection. It has the perfect amount of pigmentation so it can be built up or sheered out for a wash of color on the cheeks. Unlike a lot of other powder face products, this blush doesn't accentuate any texture or dry patches on my face  I absolutely love this blush and can't recommend it enough!

Flower Beauty Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette

This is a powder highlighter formula, but it applies as if it was a cream - it melts right into the skin and looks so radiant!
I also love that all three of the shades in this palette are distinctly different, unlike some highlighter palettes where all the shades look the same. That aspect makes the palette so versatile and can be paired with so many different makeup looks. It can be layered up for an ultra reflective metallic look, or toned down for a light radiance.

The light pearl reflect of this liquid highlighter is so beautiful and gives a "glow from within" type of look. Even though I love wearing bold and glittery highlighters, there is just something so effortless about a dewy and natural luminizer like this. It looks subtle on first glance, but when the light hits it, it has such a beautiful reflect!

As Rihanna said herself, "You can never have enough diamonds! This is the closest thing to bathing in it. The sparkle in this is just insane!”. This highlighter is so stunning and unlike any other makeup product I have ever tried. Of course I love to use this as a highlighter to add a dash of sparkle to my cheekbones, but also it looks so beautiful all over the eyelid on its own or as an eyeshadow topper. Since it has a translucent base and is pretty much just sparkle, it pairs nicely with any eyeshadow look and would flatter any skin tone.
