Olivia Rodrigo x Weezer Live at Lollapalooza 2025 // limited edition 7" vinyl single

As part of the final leg of her GUTS tour, Olivia Rodrigo headlined festivals all over the world, including day two of Lollapalooza in Chicago during the summer of 2025. With that set, she reportedly broke the record for the biggest headline crowd in the festival's history, bring over 150,000 people together in Grant Park.
During her record-breaking debut set at Lolla, she was joined on stage by surprise guests Weezer. They performed two songs together, which was a very special and full-circle moment for Olivia as the band was her first ever concert when she was younger.
"You always remember your first concert. It's a very, very special moment," she said before introducing the special guests. "I remember my first concert. It was a very memorable night. I watched this incredible band and I am so over the moon, because that incredible band is actually here tonight to play a few songs. Will you please say hello to Weezer?"
They performed two of the band's classics, "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So" together on stage, both of which are from their 1994 debut self-titled album, commonly referred to as The Blue Album.
"Well that was fucking amazing, if you could tell little Olivia that she would flip her shit," Olivia said at the end of the performance, adding that "...Weezer raised an entire generation of musicians."

To commemorate the iconic moment, Olivia released a special limited edition 7" vinyl single of the two songs she performed with Weezer. Side A features "Buddy Holly" and Side B features "Say It Ain't So". It was sold exclusively on her webstore in late 2025 for Singles Day. The release was originally limited to only 5,000 copies, but the quantity was later removed when it was restocked.
This single is pressed on a beautiful light translucent blue vinyl such a fun confetti star design on the center labels. The whole aesthetic is so cute and perfectly captures the sentimentality of the moment for her. The front cover features a photo of Olivia at her first ever concert, wearing a Weezer t-shirt. It is such a sweet homage to where it all began. The back cover shows a shot taken backstage of Olivia performing with the band in front of her massive Chicago crowd.
These covers aren't available on streaming, so I love being able to listen to them on this format. This is truly such a beautiful full-circle moment in her career and I love that she chose to immortalize it forever with this single. I love collecting Olivia's music on vinyl and have several of her live recordings in my collection. She's one of my top artists that I haven't seen live yet and I'm really hoping I get the chance to soon!
I love that Olivia consistently performs with and pays homage to rock legends through her shows. During her 2025 run of festivals alone, she brought out Talking Heads' David Byrne at Governor's Ball in New York and The Cure's Robert Smith at Glastonbury. Both of these special collaborations were also released on vinyl recently, as well. There are so many more examples of these special live moments that she has shared with iconic artists, but I what I love most is how clearly she shows, time and time again, that she's a genuine fan of music. It really shines through in all that she does. She wears her influences on her sleeve and in doing so, she introduces a whole new generation of listeners to the great music she grew up loving and was shaped by.
