EILISH BY BILLIE EILISH // FRAGRANCE REVIEW

Image
Eilish Eau de Parfum  is Billie Eilish's debut fragrance launch that was released at the end of 2021. It also marks Billie's first venture into the beauty industry with a launch that represents her and her personal brand so perfectly. I have been using the fragrance all year and have been absolutely loving it!  "I wanted it to feel like a warm embrace. It’s a scent that I’ve been chasing for years and years and years. It’s my favorite smell in the world," she said when the product launched last year. A "warm embrace" is exactly what I would use to describe this scent as well, it is just so soft and warm, mixed with a little bit of sweetness that creates the most amazing aroma. The brand's website says "this is a scent for everyone" and it is marketed as a unisex fragrance, which is great because the notes will definitely appeal to a wide range of users.  I love the packaging, it is a beautiful gold model of half of Billie's head and bust ...

BLEACHERS LIVE AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL // JULY 2022

Image
I recently had one of the greatest experiences ever in New York City seeing Bleachers live at Radio City Music Hall! This was my first ever Bleachers concert, which felt extra special because it was also their first time headlining the iconic venue at their biggest NYC show yet! My dad surprised me with front row tickets earlier this year, which is something I still can't believe actually happened! I've been anticipating this show all year and it lived up to all of my expectations and then some!  I have loved Bleachers for years, the connection I have to their music is like no other. Last year, I had the amazing opportunity to meet Jack Antonoff at a special event at Electric Lady Studios . We also had the chance to hear Bleachers' latest album, Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night , a few days before it was released too! I have written about how meaningful Jack's music has been in my life many times, so all of the events of the past year with meeting him and now b...

MELODRAMA BY LORDE // 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY ALBUM REVIEW

Image
Last month was the five year anniversary of Lorde 's sophomore release of Melodrama , which has since become one of the most influential albums in my life over that time. Although I have written about this album many times before, I never wrote a full review of it, so this felt like the perfect time to finally do so.  After taking a four year hiatus following her massively successful debut album, Pure Heroine , Lorde came back and better than ever in 2017 with Melodrama . This is a release that since became one of the best albums of the 2010s and also truly solidified her as a once-in-a-generation type of artist - what she did with Melodrama is just so amazing and can never be replicated. In the album's acknowledgements , she wrote "It’s been two years of breathlessness and hunger – a new sound, a new scene; a drink, a drumbeat." In a 2017 interview with The New York Times, she spoke of how she took inspiration from a night at a house party, "With a party, the...

COLOURPOP x LIZZIE McGUIRE EYESHADOW PALETTE REVIEW

Image
This Colourpop x Lizzie McGuire eyeshadow palette is what dreams are made of! These colorful pastels, mixed with the early 2000s nostalgia, is right on trend and has been an essential in my makeup routine all year.  I loved Lizzie McGuire when I was younger and when I saw my favorite brand, Colourpop , was collaborating with Disney for this palette, I knew I had to have it! This is a 12-pan palette made up of 5 metallics, 6 mattes and 1 pressed glitter and retails for $22 on their website.  Colourpop is one of the most dependable eyeshadow formulas on the market, and also just about all that I use in my makeup routine. Their metallics are always so smooth and ultra shiny while their mattes are soft, pigmented and easy to blend. All of the mattes are so bright and vivid, I never used a palette like this before. The way they look in the pan is exactly the way it looks when applied, which can be difficult to find. Many of the metallics have a duo-chromatic finish, which sealed ...
