EILISH BY BILLIE EILISH // FRAGRANCE REVIEW

Eilish Eau de Parfum* is Billie Eilish's debut fragrance launch that was released at the end of 2021. It also marks Billie's first venture into the beauty industry with a launch that represents her and her personal brand so perfectly. I have been using the fragrance all year and have been absolutely loving it! 

"I wanted it to feel like a warm embrace. It’s a scent that I’ve been chasing for years and years and years. It’s my favorite smell in the world," she said when the product launched last year. A "warm embrace" is exactly what I would use to describe this scent as well, it is just so soft and warm, mixed with a little bit of sweetness that creates the most amazing aroma. The brand's website says "this is a scent for everyone" and it is marketed as a unisex fragrance, which is great because the notes will definitely appeal to a wide range of users. 


I love the packaging, it is a beautiful gold model of half of Billie's head and bust with angular cuts throughout. It is such a unique design that looks like it could be a work of art when sitting on your vanity! "The inspiration for this campaign was an appreciation for the human body. It’s really about embracing yourself, being confident, and loving how you look and the way you feel. I wanted it to be very inviting, but also intimidating, comforting and a little bit romantic and dreamy," Billie said for the campaign launch. 


I love when fragrance brands don't only use standard stock bottles and instead create something new and eye-catching for the product. It feels as if the bottle is made out of metal, so it's quite heavy and sturdy. The cap part of the bottle is the head and collarbone area of the bust, which you can pull off and see a standard perfume spray applicator underneath. When I first started using this fragrance it was actually very difficult to open and kind of awkward to hold, but over time it has loosened up and is much easier now. 
 

Top - sugared petals, mandarin, warm berries
Middle - creamy vanilla, soft spices, cocoa
Base - sleek woods, warm musks, tonka beans

I absolutely love this scent*, from the first time I tried it I knew it was instantly going to be my new favorite fragrance. The strongest notes are the vanilla and the warm musks, but it is different than any other vanilla based or musky fragrance I have smelled before. I think that's because the scent is elevated by the other fruity notes listed like the mandarin and berries, but also the soft spices are also very prevalent at first. It creates such a beautiful aroma of a warm and slightly musky vanilla. 

The longevity of this scent is amazing, it is definitely the most long-lasting fragrance I own. The scent lasts all day on the skin, sometimes even longer, which is often hard to find especially at this price point. If you spray it on your clothes it lasts even longer! I have used fragrances that are way more expensive and are completely faded in an hour. Sometimes with celebrity fragrances, companies can skimp on the quality for the sake of profit, but that clearly isn't the case with Eilish. The only other celebrity fragrance brand I can wholeheartedly recommend is Ariana Grande's, which in every way is on par quality wise with Eilish. I would love to see Billie's fragrance brand grow into what Ariana's has become over the years too. 

The most important part though is that it is not too overpowering or strong when you're wearing it. Although it does last a very long time, whether it is sprayed directly on your skin or on your clothes, it more so creates a beautiful warm aroma around you. I keep using the term "warm" because that really is the best way to describe how it smells and the essence it gives. Although this works great for any season, I'm excited to wear this fragrance this autumn and winter because it feels like it will compliment that time of year so nicely. 

As I said before this is marketed as a scent for everyone, which is a claim that fits this so well because it is formulated with both traditionally feminine and masculine notes, but balances out to a blend that is very neutral. I would maybe say it is slightly more of a feminine leaning scent, but it is all personal preference and based on your body chemistry. 

This fragrance is vegan, cruelty free, paraben free and made with clean ingredients. The box is also made of biodegradable materials. In the fragrance industry, it can be difficult to find products that are made ethically and sustainably, but I love how that is a cause that Billie has always promoted and carries it through in every aspect of her branding. 

I have been using Eilish* all year, it is my everyday go-to scent and one that I will definitely be repurchasing when I inevitably use it all! I'm hoping she continues to grow her line of fragrance because her first launch is truly one of the best products I have ever used! Also expanding the line of the Eilish fragrance into candles, body lotions, soaps, etc. is something I'm hoping happens in the future too! 

This fragrance is available in the US and Canada at billieeilishfragrance.com and at certain retailers worldwide as well*. I purchased mine at Ulta, which carries three sizes; 1 oz for $48, 1.7 oz for $58, and 3.4 oz for $68. For reference, I have the 3.4 oz bottle, which is shown in all of the photos throughout this review. There are also travel sizes and special gift boxes available on their website as well.

GUTS  is the highly anticipated sophomore release from Olivia Rodrigo , following up her massively successful debut album, SOUR , in 2021 . To have the level of success she has had right out the gate with her first-ever single "driver's license" in early 2021 is so rare and she quickly became one of the most notable pop artists to debut this decade so far. When all is said and done, you'll believe God is a Woman!  I absolutely love all of the  fragrances   Ariana Grande  has released over the years, so when I found out that she was coming out with another I was so excited! For my first post of  the new year, I wanted to share my thoughts on one of my favorite makeup releases, the Safiya Nygaard x Colourpop collection ! Safiya is one of my favorite YouTubers and Colourpop is my favorite makeup brand, so this is a really exciting collaboration!  Safiya consistently makes a variety of really high quality and interesting videos that mainly focus on beauty and fashion. Tragic Kingdom is the hit breakthrough album by  No Doubt , released in 1995 to widespread critical acclaim. Blending a mix of pop, punk, rock and ska, it was a groundbreaking album for the music landscape of the mid-90's and instantly became a timeless classic. It was the band's third album together, which differed quite a bit from their first two lesser-known records, partly because of the interpersonal drama within the lives of the members at the time. For the first time, No Doubt's music was mainly written from the perspective of the band's frontwoman  Gwen Stefani .
