    I haven't taken a deeper look at all the looks from the VMAs. I've only seen a few. Shawn Mendes's suit is such a great contrast. Huge thumbs up for that. Thanks for sharing your favorite looks!

GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo // Album Review

GUTS  is the highly anticipated sophomore release from Olivia Rodrigo , following up her massively successful debut album, SOUR , in 2021 . To have the level of success she has had right out the gate with her first-ever single "driver's license" in early 2021 is so rare and she quickly became one of the most notable pop artists to debut this decade so far. There are a lot of songs that I have come to really enjoy on this album, some of which are among my favorites of the entire year so far. When comparing  GUTS   to  SOUR ,  they are alike in a lot of ways, both sonically and aesthetically. In my opinion,  GUTS  builds upon the foundation she and her producer/co-writer, Dan Nigro, set in place with  SOUR  really well. Olivia is in such an interesting and unique position as an artist right now. SAFIYA NYGAARD x COLOURPOP COLLECTION REVIEW 🦇♥

For my first post of  the new year, I wanted to share my thoughts on one of my favorite makeup releases, the Safiya Nygaard x Colourpop collection ! Safiya is one of my favorite YouTubers and Colourpop is my favorite makeup brand, so this is a really exciting collaboration!  Safiya consistently makes a variety of really high quality and interesting videos that mainly focus on beauty and fashion. I admire how much time and research she puts into what she does, all of the work that is put into these videos really shows in the finished product. If you haven't watched her channel before, I really can't recommend it enough!  In August 2017, she started a series called " bad makeup science ", which is the basis of this new Colourpop lipstick collection. There are 6 lipstick shades that correlate with a shade she created in one of her videos. You can check out the playlist of videos that inspired her collection here . BRAT is so fun, so introspective and so Julia . The release of  BRAT  marks a bold new chapter in Charli xcx 's career that has been incredible to witness. She has been a pop music innovator from the very start, always so ahead of her time in every regard. It feels like this is now the time everyone is finally catching up to her and recognizing the artistic genius that she is on a mainstream level. Charli is taking such a different approach to this music compared to many of her peers in the space by releasing a record that is this bold, daring, and abrasive. Maybelline Fit Me Dewy & Smooth: Review

As always, all opinions are my own.⋆ I have no prior experience trying either primer or foundation, so I really have nothing to compare these products to. In my makeup routine I only ever used concealer, which I mentioned in my previous review of the Colourpop No Filter Concealer . I was very excited to receive the Maybelline Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth Primer, as well as the Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation courtesy of Influenster !  Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth Primer As I previously mentioned, I have never tried any primers at all, because I always just had the feeling that it was gimmicky and doesn't really do anything to prolong your makeup.  I have tested this primer out several times and I don't really think it does anything for my skin besides add an unnecessary extra layer of product.
