Billie Eilish Live From Amazon Songline // Record Store Day Black Friday 2025 10" vinyl EP

Happy Record Store Day! To celebrate the semi-annual independent record store event, Billie Eilish released a special 10" vinyl commemorating her acoustic performance apart of Amazon's Songline series.

She performed four songs off of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT; "SKINNY", "L'AMOUR DE MA VIE", "WILDFLOWER" and "BIRDS OF A FEATHER". It's just Billie, her brother Finneas, her band, and three backing singers in an empty studio space performing them live in one take. These versions aren't available on streaming, other than this rendition of "BIRDS OF A FEATHER", which is exclusively on Amazon Music. The videos of these performances are available to watch on YouTube though, and they are really incredible.

I love that she chose to perform "SKINNY" first, as it is such an emotional and vulnerable introduction into this album. It sounded so beautiful in a stripped down format like this and reminded me of the way she performed it on tour. The same goes for "L'AMOUR DE MA VIE", which is such a gem from this album. Her performance of it was so fun and lively, fully allowing all of the sarcasm shine throughout, while riffing with the band and backing vocalists as well.

The highlight of this EP is absolutely the live version of "WILDFLOWER". When she recorded this in the summer of 2024, it was still mainly a deeper cut album track from HIT ME HARD AND SOFT. But looking back retrospectively, this performance is  absolutely what launched that song into being one of the most beloved of her entire discography. Billie's harmonies with her backing vocalists, Eloise, Jane and Rozzi, are incredible and elevated the song to new heights. The outro especially is absolutely gorgeous and captured the beauty of "WILDFLOWER" so well.

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the shining moment of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, the iconic "BIRDS OF A FEATHER". I absolutely love that song and hearing it in a slower, stripped-back way like this is so special. The simple and pure sentiments that the lyrics hold take center stage with this intimate arrangement.

HIT ME HARD AND SOFT is one of my favorite albums ever and getting to hear alternative versions of these songs is always so exciting. Last year for Record Store Day Black Friday, Billie released a new version of the album on vinyl with just the isolated vocals of every song, which highlighted some of the hidden details and adlibs that can sometimes be buried within the track. I love that these Amazon Songline performances also do the same and offer an alternate look at the same songs we already love from the album and get to hear them from a new perspective. She is also such an incredible live performer, so anytime she performs these songs it's so exciting to hear.

Billie releases a new vinyl for nearly every single Record Store Day, which is something I always look forward to every time they announce the list. This pressing of Billie Eilish Live From Amazon Songline was limited to 20,000 copies worldwide. It was never released physically before and was available exclusively at participating independent record stores on Black Friday.

It is pressed on recycled black vinyl, continuing Billie's long‑standing commitment to making her releases more eco‑friendly. As with most of her vinyl, it also comes packaged in a reusable plastic outer sleeve, reinforcing that sustainable approach.

This EP is pressed on a 10" disc, which is the first time she released music on this size format. In my collection, I only have a couple other 10" vinyl pressings from other artists, so this is definitely a unique addition to my collection.

Thanks for reading! I have written about Billie's music many times over the years, including past Record Store Day releases, all of which are linked here and below. Many more are coming soon, always! Be sure to support your local independent record stores!!
