Olivia Rodrigo's Highest Streamed Songs: Ranked // Spotify Billions Club

Olivia Rodrigo has continued to be such a unique force in the streaming era of music. As of May 2026, Olivia has surpassed a billion streams on Spotify for nine different songs, making her one of the top artists on the platform. For an artist that has debuted just under five years ago and has only released two (soon to be three) albums, that is a monumental accomplishment. Several of these tracks have even surpassed the rare two billion stream mark too - for someone with a catalog of currently about thirty songs total, the scale of her impact is major.

Since her debut in 2021 with her first single, "drivers license", Olivia has been a defining voice of her generation and one of the artists most responsible for shaping the sound of this decade. Very few have made an impact as seismic and immediate as she has. In fact, she became the first artist in history to debut her first three singles - "drivers license", "deja vu", and "good 4 u" - in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, with all three eventually occupying the top three spots simultaneously. It was a career‑making moment that introduced her as one of the most influential new voices in pop music.

What makes this celebratory retrospective of Olivia's career thus far for Spotify's Billions Club stand out, is how concentrated her biggest songs are. With the exception of just two tracks, all of her billion‑stream songs come from her 2021 debut album, SOUR. In so many of the ranking posts I've done in this series, the top songs are usually spread across multiple albums unless in very rare cases. But to see such a massive portion of her most successful work rooted in one project is a testament to the cultural impact SOUR had, and continues to have. Again, many of these songs have also already reached two billion streams, or are on track to reach that milestone soon.

An aspect that makes her music so special is the creative partnership behind it. With the exception of "All I Want", Olivia wrote every song alongside her frequent collaborator and producer, Dan Nigro. The two of them have become one of the defining musical duos of the decade and have not only shaped Olivia's sound in a massive way, but also has greatly influenced the overall direction of pop music in the years following her debut.

What makes all of this even more exciting is that she really is still just getting started. With the release of her third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, being just around the corner feels like the perfect moment to look back on some the defining tracks of her catalog up to this point - especially knowing that so many of the best songs of her career may not even exist yet!

9. "All I Want"

Technically before we ever had "drivers license" in 2021, Olivia's first breakthrough moment in music came a couple of years earlier. Like so many great pop stars before her, she got her start at Disney, and "All I Want" became her first official music release, featured on the soundtrack for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in 2019. The song serves as an early glimpse into the talent she would go on to develop for deeply emotive songwriting. It’s also a rare case of a young actor on a Disney series being asked by the producers to write an original song entirely on her own. Olivia was only 16 at the time, with no professional songwriting experience, yet she wrote a song that is overflowing with so much heart and sincerity. Even at this point in her early career, she already showed so much potential of the songwriter and storyteller she would go onto become.

favorite lyric: "Does he think that I'm the kinda girl who needs to be saved?"

8. "happier"

SOUR is quite a ballad heavy album overall, with "happier" being among the most subdued of them all. The song is ultimately about wishing an ex well, while still hoping he will never feel more for someone else than he once felt for her. It comes from a deeply self-aware place, as Olivia's writing always does, and sits within that knowingly selfish contradiction. It is a confessional lament for what they once had and the attachment she still holds for him, secretly hoping he still carries that same yearning for her in return.

favorite lyric: "And now I'm pickin' her apart, like cuttin' her down, make you miss my wretched heart, but she's beautiful, she looks kind, she probably gives you butterflies"

7. "traitor"

"traitor" served as the fourth single off of SOUR and has continued to be a fan favorite for a reason. The song captures the raw feeling of seeing an ex move on with someone else almost instantly, and the betrayal she felt in the aftermath even though technically no lines were crossed. Olivia opens up about the implications of that, trying to make sense of the reasons why he doesn't see how the optics of that could make her feel. "Guess you didn't cheat, but you're still a traitor" is a defining lyric from the song, that succinctly ties in the entire messaging of the song. It's one of many deeply vulnerable moments on the album, one that is anchored by beautiful harmonies throughout.

Her style of writing on "traitor" especially follows in the lineage of so many other great female singer-songwriters, with Taylor Swift's influence shining through in the specificity and emotional precision. This song sounds reminiscent of songs like "Forever & Always" by Taylor, or even Selena Gomez's "Lose You To Love Me". Through that lens, "traitor" is a distinct portrait of the mental anguish she was going through at a very distinct time in her life, bringing such clarity to the heartbreak she was experiencing.

favorite lyric: "God, I wish that you had thought this through before I went and fell in love with you"

6. "favorite crime"

"favorite crime" is built on some of the strongest and most evocative storytelling on all of SOUR. The clever lyricism leans into a sort of Bonnie and Clyde dynamic - two accomplices bound together through everything - only for her to realize, in hindsight, that she was the one giving everything while he gave nothing in return. All that's left now is the reckoning with the ache of the uneven devotion and what she's left with in the aftermath. The stunning harmonies and vocal production add a softness that underlines the entire track, contrasting beautifully with the heavy emotional reckoning at its core. The bridge is also one of the strongest on the album, reframing the entire song in a way that feels definitive of the heartbreak that shapes the ethos of SOUR.

favorite lyric: "It's bittersweet to think about the damage that we'd do, 'cause I was goin' down, but I was doin' it with you, yeah, everythin' we broke and all the trouble that we made, but I say that I hate you with a smile on my face"

5. "vampire"

The lead single off of Olivia's sophomore album, GUTS, picks up where she left off in following a similar formula to that of her debut single "drivers license" - with "vampire" starting as a ballad before building into an explosive bridge right at the song's climax. In some ways, it even feels like a sharper version of that blueprint, with the vivid imagery that brings the subject of the song into full focus. The emotional turmoil she was facing at this time in her life is brought to the forefront, as she describes the ways she was taken advantage of by a man who left her feeling drained of any life, bleeding her dry of any semblance of who she once was. "Went for me and not her, 'cause girls your age know better" comes through as one of the sharpest and most heart wrenching lines she has ever written.

This is the only song off of GUTS to hit a billion streams so far, which is surprising considering how dynamic and strong that album is as a whole. It always been my personal favorite of her two albums as well, even though I think that you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love is likely to take that spot soon!

favorite lyric: "I used to think I was smart, but you made me look so naive, the way you sold me for parts as you sunk your teeth into me, oh bloodsucker, fame fucker, bleedin' me dry like a goddamn vampire"

4. "good 4 u"

"good 4 u" is one of the biggest and most instantly recognizable songs of Olivia's entire career thus far and the third piece in the trifecta of her groundbreaking debut singles that will absolutely go down in pop music history. (Spoiler: the other two are, of course, coming up in the top spots.) The teen angst mixed with the pristine pop punk production is such an electric part of this album. In hindsight, it also feels like an early precursor to the direction she would lean into more heavily on GUTS, which was largely driven by more of that energy paired with sharp, cathartic lyricism.

The edge and attitude she tapped into on this song is the result of the clear echoes of artists like Paramore and Avril Lavigne, and even the spirit of some of Taylor Swift's work in her early career. While the Paramore and Taylor comparisons have been discussed to exhaustion at this point, and also often unfairly sparking unnecessary discourse about influence vs. interpolation during the SOUR album cycle, "good 4 u" does feel like an evolved 2020's evolution of their lineage; serving as a modern counterpart to songs like "Misery Business" and "Better Than Revenge" in many ways, filtered through Olivia's own distinct perspective.

favorite lyric: "Maybe I'm too emotional, but your apathy's like a wound in salt"

3. "jealousy, jealousy"

Can a song that has over a billion streams still be considered underrated? Maybe - and if so, "jealousy, jealousy" feels like one of the brightest and most underrated gems on all of SOUR. It is such a powerful and clear look into the mind of a young woman coming of age in the modern world. She depicts the universal female experience with such precision and honesty, especially in the age of social media and the constant trials and tribulations of trying to find your place in the world amidst societal pressures and personal pitfalls. This perspective is something that Olivia has always depicted in such an exceedingly relatable and self-aware way. She writes from a place of striking honesty and transparency that is so refreshing to see coming from an artist of her stature and influence. It also brings a sort of grungy 90's edge to the album, showing the range of influences she pulled from throughout the creation of SOUR and adding another layer to its sonic landscape.

It captures that feeling of being completely wrapped up in what everyone else is doing and never feeling like enough in comparison to people you don't even know, and never will know, who you only ever see through a phone screen. That sense of never being cool enough, pretty enough, or accomplished enough builds until the jealousy consumes you, leaving you lost in your own mind about the toxicity of it all and convinced you'll never measure up, no matter how much you want to.  It's such a universal experience, something almost every young woman goes through at some point, especially when we're exposed to so many people online every single day. "Their win is not my loss, I know it's true. but I can't help gettin' caught up in it all," is such a perfectly apt line that captures the entire spiral depicted in the song. This is a theme she has continued to explore throughout the rest of her work, and so much of the foundation of "jealousy, jealousy".

favorite lyric: "And I see everyone gettin' all the things I want, I'm happy for them, but then again, I'm not"

2. "drivers license"

"drivers license" is the song that really started it all for Olivia and is the perfect depiction of young teenage love and first heartbreak. She captures all of the ways in which it can feel so monumental and all-consuming in the moment, like it's the end of the world, only to look back one day and realize that this too shall pass. If this song proves anything, it's that this is such a universal experience, and she is able to put those feelings into words in such a clear and personal way, while still allowing everyone else to see a bit of themselves within it. She portrays the emotional whirlwind so perfectly; the Lorde-influenced harmonies paired with the deeply diaristic storytelling in the bridge - which were crafted straight from the Taylor Swift school of songwriting - cement it as the most defining moment of her early career.

This song also indirectly marked the birth of not one, but two incredible pop artists - the aforementioned "blonde girl" that inspired this song has obviously gone on to build a massive career of her own in the years to follow, at least partly due to the attention brought by "drivers license" and the infamous love triangle at the heart of it. It was a massive cultural moment and one of the biggest songs released in 2021, and no matter where Olivia takes her music in the years to come, this song will undoubtedly continue to follow her.

favorite lyrics: "God, I'm so blue, know we're through, but I still fuckin' love you, babe" / "Guess you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me, 'cause you said forever, now I drive alone past your street"

1. "deja vu"

"deja vu" was the second single Olivia ever released in 2021, which solidified her as one of the defining voices of a new generation in pop music, proving she was far from another one-hit wonder. It served as the follow-up to "drivers license", signaling what felt like a natural progression for her as an artist, while still carrying through some of the same themes of yearning and nostalgia of a past relationship. Through vivid, specific lyrics, she captures the bittersweet frustration of watching an ex recreate shared moments with someone new. With this song, Olivia also introduced a more expansive and textured sound, signaling her potential for evolution and growth that was to come with the rest of this album, as well as all of her other future releases.

Since the release of "deja vu", Olivia has gone on to release so many more incredible songs and has grown so much as an artist, but this will always remain a timeless classic and a snapshot of the early stages of her artistry. It served as a pivotal stepping stone coming off of the massive success that "drivers license" was and giving a glimpse at the immense talent she would only further develop with the rest of SOUR and later GUTS in 2023. It serves as a defining moment in her journey, capturing the raw emotion and sharp storytelling that would later evolve and refine her sound - a true time capsule of Olivia beginning to cement her place in pop music history.

favorite lyrics: "And I bet that she knows Billy Joel, 'cause you played her "Uptown Girl", you're singing it together, now I bet you even tell her how you love her in between the chorus and the verse" / "A different girl now, but there's nothing new, I know you get déjà vu"

Thanks for reading! I have written about Olivia Rodrigo's music countless times over the years, all of which are linked below and coming soon. She is a rare case of an artist that doesn't have a single bad song, so this ranking is purely just based on personal preference because I truly do love them all. 💜 Check out my full review of SOUR, GUTS, and more from my ranking series.
