autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place is a playlist consisting of all of the songs that represent the feelings of the fall season for me. There is so much music that encapsulates the beauty of this time of year so perfectly. As the days get shorter and the leaves start to change color, I wanted to curate a playlist around all of the songs that evoke a feeling of warmth and coziness of autumn. The title is based on a lyric from one of my favorite songs ever, "All Too Well" by Taylor Swift, more specifically the 10 minute version. I love that lyric so much, it is such a vividly beautiful depiction of the season. The entirety of her Red album has defined the autumnal season for me for the past decade, it's so perfect. So much of her music always reminds me of the fall - "cardigan", "Maroon" and "ivy" are more Taylor songs that I love for this season, but the list is truly endless. 

There is so much more music that captures the beauty and coziness of the season for me too. "Envy The Leaves" by Madison Beer, "Sweater Weather" by The Neighbourhood, "Halloween" by Phoebe Bridgers and "Heather" by Conan Gray are some more standout favorites. I also love Lana Del Rey's cover of "Season of the Witch" by Donovan too, it's always an essential for this time of the year. 

The final song on the playlist is "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Tramp, which felt perfect to end this "All Too Well" inspired autumnal playlist on as it served as an inspiration for Taylor Swift during the creation of her Red album. Taylor even references it in "All Too Well" with the lyric, "Oh your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze, we're singing in the car getting lost upstate". 

Albums like Harry Styles' self-titled debut, Norman Fucking Rockwell! by Lana Del Rey, Pure Heroine by Lorde and The 1975's self-titled debut are records I always find myself returning to this time of the year. They evoke feelings of nostalgia for me and always capture the overall essence of autumn. I love fall so much and there is a ton of music that always reminds me of the season and all of my favorite things about it. There are so many more songs and albums that inspire me during the changing of the seasons, and I tried to incorporate as much of them as possible into this playlist!

GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo // Album Review

GUTS  is the highly anticipated sophomore release from Olivia Rodrigo , following up her massively successful debut album, SOUR , in 2021 . To have the level of success she has had right out the gate with her first-ever single "driver's license" in early 2021 is so rare and she quickly became one of the most notable pop artists to debut this decade so far. There are a lot of songs that I have come to really enjoy on this album, some of which are among my favorites of the entire year so far. When comparing  GUTS *  to  SOUR *,  they are alike in a lot of ways, both sonically and aesthetically. In my opinion,  GUTS  builds upon the foundation she and her producer/co-writer, Dan Nigro, set in place with  SOUR  really well. Olivia is in such an interesting and unique position as an artist right now. SAFIYA NYGAARD x COLOURPOP COLLECTION REVIEW 🦇♥

For my first post of  the new year, I wanted to share my thoughts on one of my favorite makeup releases, the Safiya Nygaard x Colourpop collection ! Safiya is one of my favorite YouTubers and Colourpop is my favorite makeup brand, so this is a really exciting collaboration!  Safiya consistently makes a variety of really high quality and interesting videos that mainly focus on beauty and fashion. I admire how much time and research she puts into what she does, all of the work that is put into these videos really shows in the finished product. If you haven't watched her channel before, I really can't recommend it enough!  In August 2017, she started a series called " bad makeup science ", which is the basis of this new Colourpop lipstick collection. After stepping out in 2021 with his first solo venture outside of his band, 5 Seconds of Summer , Luke Hemmings is back again with a stunning new EP called  boy . Much of this seven song EP picks up where his debut album,  When Facing The Things We Turn Away From ,   left off with looking back on his youth trying to process all that he went through, while still looking onward into the man he is becoming. Every song was produced and co-written with  Sammy Witte , who Luke also worked with on his debut album. Sonically, they also build upon the foundation of that album throughout boy .
